Patients are
accepted with a physician's referral and a prescription. Our staff is
available for consultation with the physician in a clinical setting or in
the physician's office to help determine the most appropriate device for
the patient.
Appointments may be made by calling our office between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Special appointments may also be made outside of normal office hours. When necessary, our staff will make hospital, nursing home, or home visits for prosthetic or orthotic care. Throughout the course of fitting, fabrication, and final delivery of the prosthesis or orthosis, our patients receive an extensive, detailed education on the use and care of the device, along with information on personal care and hygiene, exercise, activities, and apparel suited to their individual rehabilitation program. Questions regarding design, fabrication, and function of the prosthesis/orthosis are both encouraged and fully addressed by our staff. Additionally, patients are provided with informative reading materials to help them cope and understand their rehabilitation program and it's challenges. Follow-up care is an important component of our patient rehabilitation program. Subsequent visits ensure that the orthosis or prosthesis is functioning properly, that necessary personal care and device maintenance procedures are being followed, and the patient is obtaining maximum benefits from the treatment plan.
